Mepco / Dunham Bush Thermostatic Steam Traps
Warren-Webster steam traps were discontinued over 35 years ago. However, many of the original repair parts continue to be made by MEPCO under the Warren-Webster brand name.
Trane steam traps were discontinued in 1990. We have the replacement repair parts for all of the original Trane steam traps.
Today, in hundreds of thousands of installations from coast to coast, MEPCO quality traps are delivering dependable, long-lasting, low maintenance service so essential to efficient heating systems. MEPCO traps efficiently drain condensate and vent air from steam equipment and prevent the flow of steam to return piping with a simple ruggedly constructed unit that requires minimum maintenance.
Low and Medium Pressure Thermostatic Traps are designed for pressures from 25” Hg vacuum to 25 PSI and capacities to 700 EDR. With a cast brass body and cover, non-corrosive working parts, and thermostatic discs that have been tested to over 10 million cycles, these traps set industry standards for dependability. MEPCO exclusive thermostatic disc design assures uniform expansion over the entire operating range. Stop shoulder construction of the disc permits individual calibration for correct operation and field interchangeability without field adjustment. Available in six patterns (AP, SW, LH, RH, VS, VST) and three sizes (1/2”, ¾”, 1”) with either integral or renewable seats. Stainless steel valves and seats are also available.
Repair Cartridge Units allow repair of integral seat traps without removing the trap from the system piping. Consisting of a new seat, disc, valve and cap, the cartridge is installed quickly by removing the old cap and disc and screwing in the cartridge. The old trap is thus renewed with the same full flow capacity as the original in contrast to competitive repair kits and "cage units" which substantially reduce it.
High Pressure Thermostatic Traps are similar in construction to the low pressure radiator trap. With swivel type stainless steel renewable seat, this trap is especially designed for high pressure service. Stop shoulder disc construction allows ease of field replacement, if required. Operating pressures range from 5 to 125 PSI. Type TH High Pressure Thermostatic Traps are available in two patterns (AP & SW) in sizes 1/2", 3/4" and 1".

Mepco / Dunham Bush Vacuum Breakers
The MEPCO Vacuum Breaker is a simple device which provides a positive means of relieving or "breaking" a vacuum at a predetermined setting. It is not intended to control or maintain a specific degree of vacuum, but rather is designed to prevent such damage as:
- Freezing of coils resulting from the
hold back of condensate due to an induced vacuum.
- Collapse of jackets on steam jackets
and kettles caused by vacuum when steam is shut off.
- Water hammer in any heating equipment due to vacuum caused by throttling of control valves.
MEPCO Vacuum Breakers are furnished with 3/8" male pipe thread and are set at the factory to begin opening at 2 inches of vacuum. They may be field adjusted from 1" to 28" of vacuum. Maximum operating pressure is 65 lb.
